My Wedding LookBook by TheSuperfairy

This look - garden, romantic-hair, simple-sheath cream dresses, flowers and natural makeup really was my original want for my wedding. Although I admit I had to bring the notch up abit, I mean come on - let's be real here. Do you actually see yourself walking into a church or full-blown Chinese wedding course dinner with this look? So nways, thought you might like to know what I had originally planned to wear (but didn't) on my wedding day :D As we shared all the lovely pictures with our friends and families, these coming posts you are about to read will share with you my thoughts and preparation for the dresses I wore (or not) on my wedding day. I hope you enjoy the read. This is My Wedding LookBook. For all images, PLEASE CLICK ON IMAGES TO ENLARGE VIEWS.

My Wedding LookBook: Dress # 1 That didn't Make It.

CLICK ON PICTURE TO ENLARGE VIEW. So THIS, was my Banana Republic 100% Silk Dress that did not make on my wedding day.It reminded me of Pippa Middleton's awesome Alexander McQueen bridesmaid creation & Cameron Diaz wore the same creation but in hot red. But having said all of this, it's probably too simple and more suited for a delightful casual garden wedding. ;) which in Penang, this look will be frowned upon (definitely my mom would ask " Where is the bride?") haha ...

My Wedding LookBook: Dress # 2 That Didn't Make It

BCBG. The mother of all coolness personified in THIS dress. Also didn't make it on my wedding night because quite simply, there was just not enough time. Tulle and lace. You cannot get any better than this, and the fit - divine. Would of been ecstatic to wear this because it's understated elegance & sophisticated all in ONE. But maybe next time, recycle it for my anniversary celebration weddings ;))

My Wedding LookBook: Deciding on the Shape

First things first, to decide on your eventful precious gown - DECIDE which shape you like. For example, are you a fan of huge ballroom-type skirting? Then A-line or princess cut is probably best for you. These gowns are usually very elaborate and is very grand - fit for a princess! But for me, I prefer a more fitted design. If you have assets to show off, eg. ample cleavage ... consider empire cut. Although I quite fancy empire cut because it looks so pretty (!), but I am probably too skinny to pull this off ... so I chose the mermaid silhouette for a form-fitting look that works for me. Key is. Decide what shape will work for you.

My Wedding LookBook: Where to start Searching ;)

where to start?? Work out a matrix of rental gown prices from bridal houses and compare. CLICK ON PICTURE TO ENLARGE VIEW. Another option is to actually BUY off-the-rack pieces, but then again, you are still looking a the price range of probably rm 700 (see picture price tag for an off-the-rack piece) and above, which is NOT worth it. In my opinion, RENT. Or third option .. source for cheaper options. Please feel free to drop me a mail if you would like tips.

My Wedding LookBook: Anovia Bridal Penang

With the encouragement from Emmanuel ;) ... I decided to settle for ANOVIA Bridal in Penang for my church wedding rental gown. I really wanted a simple, classic piece which I already had in mind (or even had in possession - see my Banana Republic silk dress above blogroll). But I decided I probably had to punch up the drama abit due to the number of guests attending.

My Wedding LookBook: Lovely Church Wedding Dress

RENTAL from Anovia Bridal Penang, with much love. Nicely done, although the alteration on the bottom-half of the dress needs refinement (observe all that scrunching going on there ...) but it's my fault that the alteration had to be last-minute because I showed up ONE day before the wedding. Nuff said.

My Wedding LookBook: Ethereal Lace Gown

And so. Began my search for the perfect lace-dress. At this time, I was already in Singapore and this exceptionally beautiful, lace dress I stumbled upon when I was almost wanted to give-up. There was really no way you could get a FULL-LACE dress in a mermaid fitted form. It either came with abit of lace here, and there but never really FULL-LACE. So I think this dress is meant for me ;) I found it when I least expected it. It truly is my dream wedding gown, I promise you even Designer Bridal Room in Kayel won't have this wonder and Designer Bridal will cost you much, much more.

My Wedding LookBook: Laced Back

Here's how the dress looks like from the back. You can see on the left side, Nicole Ritchie's earlier tulle skirting was detached showing the entire lace dress in its fitted form. I love the buttons on her Marchesa version, and had mine fixed with pearl buttons by the bridal house I got this dress from in Singapore. Result? 100% Love!
