So it's the annual summer vacation, last year I did Athens and the Greek Islands. This year, I was coming from London first. Decided to check-out www.easyjet.com UK's popular budget carrier for the cheapest last-minute flights to Europe (anywhere!) and NICE fell sweetly in the $100 GBP range (for last minute return flights, this is a steal btw). So to NICE then it was quickly decided.
The French Riviera's Cote D'Azur coastal stretch is famous with celebrities for its beautiful beaches and weather. The entire stretch will cover a patchwork of glamorous cities and little towns in the sequence of CANNES-NICE-VILLEFRANCHE-EZE-BEAUSOLEIL-MONACO. As I only had a few days, I opted for Nice-Villefranche(base)-Monaco. Would love to do Cannes but oh well.
Anyways, here's me at the start of my vacation. I had to catch the train to Stansted Airport (you can book all trains in advance via the National Rail UK online website). The weather was bout 21 degrees C ... pretty pleasant, having my cuppa before the train arrives.
BTW I've decided to travel really really light this time - only ONE laptop backpack (see next to me) which had a set of rollers if I wanted to lug it around but I can still carry on my back if I wanted to. Got it for only SGD 39 NETT online (AllDealsAsia.com promo has ended), sturdy design and can hold all my items below for my travel:
- One small bag of toiletries
- 2 satin non-wrinkled dresses
- 4 long-sleeved thin tees
- 1 cardigan
- 2 pairs of tights
- 2 pairs of stockings
- 4 pairs of socks
- A pair of 4-inch black heels (amazing this backpack!)
- One paperthin laptop
- Universal adapter, phone charger and laptop charger.
- A foldable umbrella.
